Verification
Understand what a status means
UpDown may offer phone, work-email, or document-related verification options. The exact check should always be explained where the status appears.
Phone-based access
A phone status means the account completed the phone access flow. It is not a background check.
Work-email verification
A work-email status means the user completed the available verification flow for an email address. It does not confirm employment beyond what that process establishes.
Identity or document options
Where offered, the App should explain the document requested, what is reviewed, what the result means, and how long the information is kept. Not every user completes every available check.
If something feels wrong
Pause. Reassess. Choose safety.
You are never required to continue with a shared ride when you are uncomfortable with the situation.
- Do not share an OTP, UPI PIN, banking password, or unnecessary identity image.
- Do not move the conversation to an unfamiliar payment or communication channel under pressure.
- Leave or seek help if the vehicle, driver, rider, route, or circumstances differ materially from what was agreed.
- For an immediate emergency, contact the appropriate local emergency service. UpDown is not an emergency-response provider.
