1. Request access, correction or deletion

Use the privacy contact in the panel above to ask about information associated with your UpDown account. State whether you are seeking access, correction, erasure, consent withdrawal or help with a privacy complaint. Explain the requested change and include enough account context for a secure follow-up, using a masked phone number initially.

Do not send an OTP, password, UPI PIN, full identity-document image or another person's information. We may request proportionate verification through a suitable channel before disclosing information or changing an account. Sending a request does not authorise disclosure to an unverified person.

2. Current account-deletion limitations

The current App and API do not provide a complete automated account-deletion workflow. This page explains the limitation; it does not submit a request automatically or promise that every database, vendor or backup can be erased immediately.

Where the privacy contact is available, you can submit a manual request. The response should explain the information involved, verification needed, what can be removed, any lawful retention and the next step. Applicable legal response deadlines take precedence. If a contact channel is unavailable, this site cannot currently receive an online deletion request.

3. What deletion needs to cover

A complete deletion process must consider account access, profile information, uploaded photos, vehicle details, journey and conversation records, notification tokens, analytics identifiers, support records, vendors and backups. Some records may need to remain for legal obligations, fraud investigations or legal claims. We must explain relevant exceptions rather than describe retained information as fully deleted.

Messages or journey information already received and saved independently by another traveller cannot be removed from that person's own device through an UpDown database deletion. Information irreversibly anonymised so that it cannot reasonably identify you may remain.

4. Sign-out, uninstalling and permissions

Signing out ends access on that device but does not erase server records. Uninstalling removes the application from the device but is not an account-deletion request. You can manage location and notification permissions through device settings. Withdrawing information necessary for a feature can prevent that feature from working.

5. Complaints and follow-up

Retain a copy of your request. If you believe a response is incomplete, reply with the unresolved issue and use the grievance contact above. You may exercise statutory complaint rights where available under the law in force. The Privacy Policy explains processing, sharing, retention and other choices.
